JACK HARRIS

Jack Harris probably best known for his book "Freemasonry: The Invisible Cult in Our Midst." His book contains many misleading editorial comments and half-truths. Many of his references are taken out of context or misquoted. While he tries to prove a relationship between religion and Masonry his book falls woefully short of doing so. We will list just a few of Harris's "errors".

Jack Harris claimed that Albert Pike was a Brigadier General in the Civil War and was later tried for treason. Pike was indeed a Brigadier General in the Confederate Army and was in charge of Indian troops. There were rumors that some of his Indians had scalped Union Soldiers. Pike was not charged with treason and was pardoned by President Johnson in 1866. He lost his personal property as a result of the war. Why did Harris say he was tried for treason , when he wasn't?

Over the Course of a year a Mason who attends the Lodge regularly would expect to hear at least four dozen prayers. Why is it the Mr. Harris did not realize in all his years in the Lodge why none of the prayers in the Lodge were offered in Jesus name? Why is it that he suddenly became "deceived?" How did Mr. Harris exist in the Lodge for 11 years without knowing what was going on around him?
